Z1 Youth Bar Expands BMX Program with New Bikes and Pro Coaching

Z1 Youth Bar has taken its BMX program to the next level, thanks to a £500 grant distributed by Girvan Town Team in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund. The funding allowed the youth organisation to purchase two new BMX bikes and offer an exciting coaching session with Reece Thomson from the Scottish BMX School who competed at last year’s UCI World Championships.

BMX Session Highlights

On Saturday, 7th September, participants took part in a BMX session led by Reece, whose expertise in flatland BMX riding provided valuable tips and tricks for the young riders. The event, organised by Amy Bissett from Z1 Youth Bar, was supported by Biosphere Bikes, who loaned additional bikes. The grant has also allowed the youth group to expand its BMX fleet from six to eight bikes, allowing more young people to participate.

Grant Opportunities for Local Groups

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Girvan Town Team has been able to support several local groups with grants of up to £500. The grants aim to support initiatives in Girvan and surrounding villages that promote grassroots community-building.
